India’s New Labour Codes

  1. In the Code of Wages 2019, terms like Minimum Wages, Equal Remuneration, Bonus, etc. will have a new definition all together.
  2. The Industrial Relations Code Bill, 2020 will focus on issues related to Labour strikes, standing orders and special funds for skilled labourers.
  3. Under the Social Security Bill, 2020, the National Social Security Board will be constituted, terms like platform worker, wage ceiling, etc. will be redefined in accordance with the current conditions, Employee Provident Fund Organization’s role would be implemented in an organization with 20 or more employee.
  4. The Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code Bill, 2020 will focus on areas like night work for women, annual health check-ups, travel allowances, etc.
